Contractor or subcontractor agreements

A Contractor Agreement is not a contract of employment, it is specifically designed to outline the intentions of both a subcontractor and a client.

The main differences include:

  • A Contractor Agreement states that the contractor is self-employed and responsible for their own tax and NI.
  • A Contractor Agreement is normally for a fixed term and usually not renewable.
  • A Contractor Agreement won’t normally have set hours of work.
  • A Contractor Agreement will normally not make allowance for subcontractor expenses.
  • A Contractor Agreement doesn’t include holidays, however, it may have fixed contract periods.
  • A Contractor Agreement will normally allow the subcontractor to substitute employees, if necessary.

Our Contractor Agreement includes the following provisions:

  • Contractor and client details
  • Description of works or services
  • Completion dates
  • Workman ship standards specifications required
  • Payment terms
  • Extra services or work agreed
  • Contractor indemnity
